Since desserts and mithai (sweet treats) plays an important role in all the festivals in India, here we bring you a recipe that is perfect to treat your siblings. It is called Kesar Kheer.
Besides being delicious, this creamy kheer is also very easy and quick to make. To prepare this all you need is a bowl of rice, milk, saffron (kesar), milk powder, sugar, and a few dry fruits to top it up. The chewy texture of rice and the flavours of kesar, make this dessert one-of-a-kind. This easy and quick kheer recipe is also perfect to satiate sugar cravings, especially when you aren’t in the mood to cook something elaborate.

To begin with the recipe, wash the rice and soak it for at least 1-2 hours. Once done, drain, and keep aside.
Now, take a large pan, add milk and boil over medium heat. Meanwhile, take a spoonful of milk from the pan, add in saffron strands, and mix. Keep the saffron mixture aside for further use.
Chop almonds and pistachios. Add them to the boiling milk. After that, add cardamom powder.
Then add soaked rice and milk powder. Give it a good stir.
